| This unique book
uncovers the rich heritage of Lytham St Annes, with colour photographs
of every listed building in the town. It contains interesting historical
information about the buildings and how they fit into the town's development,
with general information about why buildings are listed.
There is also
a section of photographs of buildings all over the town which we
feel are undervalued - or in some cases under threat.
One purpose
of the book is to record the situation at the turn of the millennium
and to provoke discussion in the town as to what should be valued/preserved
and why. There are buildings which you may think should be included
but are not - and others which are featured but should not be. We
are sure, however, that you will be amazed at our rich architectural
heritage.
The book is
very attractively presented. There are 100 pages with over 200 colour
photographs, and it is packed full of interesting information about
the town.
The Society
was pleased to receive a millennium lottery award to help with the
printing costs.
