If this building is converted into flats it
will be lost to the community and its
internal structure destroyed.
We want to restore neglected,
undervalued and degraded details
of its design, such as the green
and yellow Art Nouveau tiles
that have been painted over.
These tiles were originally supplied
by Williams of Manchester.
The stained glass was supplied by
Steward of Lancaster, and the
glazed brick faience from the
Leeds Fireclay Co.
ANDY HART(Seen here as one of the chain gang)
Mr. July works as a tree surgeon,
and is pictured manipulating his
large chainsaw .
He says:
Things of beauty should be
cared for, so that they can
be enjoyed by future
generations.
