This is a dominating corner building in
the street scene, which still makes a
strong statement as was intended
by its founders.
It was a symbol of the aspirations of the
new town of St Annes (1875), and the
land was reserved for community use
from that date.
With the Carnegie library (1904) the
college has been the hub of the
cultural and educational life of
the town until 1999. . |
